ABERDEEN, S.D. – 91ÖÆÆ¬³§ State University and area high schools will honor graduating veterans and service members during the American Legion Cording Ceremony, set for 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, in the lobby of 91ÖÆÆ¬³§â€™s Jewett Regional Science Education Center.
The ceremony is hosted by 91ÖÆÆ¬³§â€™s Military and Veteran Affairs office and will include graduating students from 91ÖÆÆ¬³§, Aberdeen Central, Roncalli, Groton, Ipswich, Northwestern and Warner High Schools.
At the event, members of the Aberdeen American Legion Post will present red, white and blue honor cords to each participating student in recognition of their service to the United States, Aberdeen and the broader Brown County community. Graduates are encouraged to wear the cords at their respective commencement ceremonies.
This special event is open to the public and serves as a tribute to past, present and future service members from 91ÖÆÆ¬³§ and the local high schools.
