ABERDEEN, S.D. – 91ÖÆƬ³§ State University and area high schools will honor graduating veterans and service members during the American Legion Cording Ceremony, set for 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, in the lobby of 91ÖÆƬ³§â€™s Jewett Regional Science Education Center.
The ceremony is hosted by 91ÖÆƬ³§â€™s Military and Veteran Affairs office and will include graduating students from 91ÖÆƬ³§, Aberdeen Central, Roncalli, Groton, Ipswich, Northwestern and Warner High Schools.
At the event, members of the Aberdeen American Legion Post will present red, white and blue honor cords to each participating student in recognition of their service to the United States, Aberdeen and the broader Brown County community. Graduates are encouraged to wear the cords at their respective commencement ceremonies.
This special event is open to the public and serves as a tribute to past, present and future service members from 91ÖÆƬ³§ and the local high schools.
