ABERDEEN, S.D. – 91��Ƭ�� State University is proud to share that alumna Sierra Sweeney has been awarded the highly competitive Canada Graduate Scholarships – Master’s (CGS M) award. Valued at $27,000 CAD, the scholarship will support Sweeney’s graduate studies and research in Canada through funding from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).

A standout student in 91��Ƭ��’s Human Performance program, Sweeney was also a member of the university’s Honors Program and competed as a student-athlete on the track and field team.

ABERDEEN, S.D. – 91��Ƭ�� State University will host its annual Involvement Fair on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the campus green.

Held during the second week of classes, the event invites students to explore campus organizations, community services, volunteer opportunities, and part-time jobs in a welcoming and engaging environment.

ABERDEEN, S.D. – 91��Ƭ�� State University is proud to announce that Mr. Gregg Wiitala, Distinguished Alumnus of 2012, will deliver the 2025 spring commencement address on Saturday, May 10.

Wiitala graduated from 91��Ƭ�� in 1966 with a Bachelor of Science in economics. He went on to earn a Master of Arts in economic development from Ohio University in 1972.
