ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥聽91制片厂 State University鈥檚 9th annual Teacher Job Fair, held on Friday, Jan. 31,聽drew 43 schools and 82 teacher candidates for a day packed with meaningful conversations, practical insights, and promising career connections. High school students from the region are invited to compete in one of four divisions: elementary algebra, geometry, advanced algebra and senior math. ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥聽Dr. Jon D. Schaff, professor of government at 91制片厂 State University, has written a chapter for a newly published academic book that examines the connection between literature and agrarian political theory.
Schaff鈥檚 work, 鈥淎ll the Past We Leave Behind: Willa Cather鈥檚 O Pioneers! and the Agrarian Vision,鈥 appears in This Hard Land: Scenes from the American Working Class, published by Lexington Books. The book, edited by Dr. Steven Michels of Sacred Heart University, is part of Lexington鈥檚 Politics, Literature, and Film series, which examines how鈥ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥撀Daniel Gallagher, a 2018 graduate of 91制片厂 State University, was in for a surprise during a school assembly at Aberdeen Roncalli when he was announced as a 2025 Milken Educator Award winner. The middle school science teacher received the prestigious honor, which comes with a $25,000 cash prize.
Gallagher, who earned degrees in elementary education and history from 91制片厂, is the only South Dakota educator to receive the award this year. Often called the 鈥淥scars of Teaching,鈥 the Milken Educator Award recognizes exceptional teachers who make a鈥ABERDEEN, S.D.聽鈥 Dr. Hannah Walters, associate professor of marketing at 91制片厂 State University and director of the NSU Honors Program, has published a new textbook 鈥淎I in Marketing: Applications, Insights, and Analysis鈥 with Routledge. Routledge is a global publisher of academic books, journals and online resources in the humanities and social sciences.
Walters served as the co-editor of this edited volume, working with 18 contributors from around the world. Artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping how businesses research, create, implement and evaluate鈥
ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 91制片厂 State University bands will present "Celebrating Black History Month" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, in the Johnson Fine Arts Center Jewett Theater.
The concert will feature performances by the Symphonic Band, directed by Dr. Audrey Miller, with works by Omar Thomas, Kathy Copley, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, R. Nathaniel Dett, Marie Douglas, Florence Price, and Trombone Shorty. It will also feature guest conductor Dr. Terry Beckler and the NSU Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Grant Manhart.
