    ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 91制片厂 State University鈥檚 annual homecoming week will be capped off with the 108th Gypsy Day Parade and homecoming football game on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024. This year鈥檚 homecoming theme, 鈥淲olves in Candy Land,鈥 promises a tasteful celebration as the 91制片厂 and Aberdeen communities come together for this time-honored tradition.

    The parade will begin at 9 a.m. on Main Street, with a wide variety of creative floats, marching bands, and community entries expected to participate. Parade-goers are encouraged to bring chairs and bags for鈥

  • 91制片厂 State University Art Galleries Welcome Visiting Artists for Fall 2024 Exhibition

    ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 91制片厂 State University's Art Galleries are excited to present Separations, a new exhibition featuring artworks and installations by visiting artists Eli Show and Angela Zonunpari. The exhibition will run from Sept. 20 to Nov. 15, 2024, with an artist talk scheduled for this Friday, Sept. 20, at 12:00 p.m. in the Johnson Fine Arts Center's Red Room.

    Separations explores themes of space, art, and life, drawing on the concept of "liminal spaces" as seen in traditional torii gates in Japan, which mark transitions between the mundane and the鈥

    ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 The TRIO McNair Scholars Program at 91制片厂 State University will host the inaugural NSU McNair Forum on Friday, Sept. 27, 2024. The event, held in the Centennial Room of the Avera Student Center, will feature three distinguished scholars who are either alumni of 91制片厂 State or have previously served as faculty. The forum is designed to provide insights into the journey from undergraduate education to the attainment of a doctorate.

  • Fall 2024 NSU Noon Forums Begin Sept. 18 with a Focus on 'America's Unfinished Business'

    ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 91制片厂 State University will kick off its Fall 2024 Noon Forums on Wednesday, Sept. 18, in the Williams Library Round Room.

    Dr. Jon Schaff will be the featured speaker at the noon event, titled 鈥淭he Genius of Mr. Madison鈥檚 Constitution.鈥 Schaff is the director of the Center for Public History and Civic Engagement.

    Schaff鈥檚 Noon Forum is a follow-up to 91制片厂鈥檚 Constitution Day Celebration, held on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

    The second Noon Forum of the semester will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 25, with featured speakers鈥

  • 91制片厂 State University Sees Continued Enrollment Growth for Fall 2024

    ABERDEEN, S.D.聽鈥 91制片厂 State University is pleased to announce its largest new first-time class since 2014 and largest headcount enrollment since at least 1998.

    91制片厂 welcomed 358 first-time students, an increase of 12% over 2023, and increased headcount enrollment by 5.4% to 3,711. Since implementing its strategic enrollment plan in 2022, first-time students have increased 20% and headcount enrollment 11%.

    Niche, a platform for college reviews and rankings, bases its results on factors such as academic quality, student satisfaction, campus safety and housing options.

    ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 91制片厂 State University's Millicent Atkins School of Education will host the Educators Rising Learning Expo on Wednesday, Oct. 2. The free event invites high school students to explore careers in education through hands-on activities and networking opportunities.

    Terra McQuillen, language arts teacher at Central High School in Aberdeen, will deliver the keynote address.

  • Johnson Fine Arts Center to Host Annual Art Exhibition and Film Screening

    ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 91制片厂 State University will host its annual beginning-of-the-year art exhibition at Gallery X, located in the Johnson Fine Arts Center, on Thursday, Sept. 12. The event, which precedes the faculty music recital, is free and open to the public.

    The exhibition will feature a variety of artwork created by students at various stages of their art careers, with a special focus on upcoming graduating seniors. For some participants, this will be their first art show beyond high school, while others will use this exhibition as a significant鈥
