ABERDEEN, S.D. – 91��Ƭ�� State University bands will present a “Concert of Women Composers” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, in the Johnson Fine Arts Center Jewett Theater.

The concert will feature performances by the Symphonic Band, directed by Dr. Audrey Miller, featuring works by Julie Giroux, Erika Svanoe, Jennifer Jolley, and Carol Brittin Chambers. The concert will also feature the NSU Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Grant Manhart.

ABERDEEN, S.D. – 91��Ƭ�� State University student Kara Sinar has been accepted to law school through the Honors Law Opportunity Program (HLOP). Sinar will graduate in May 2024 with a major in English and a double minor in theatre and philosophy. Originally from Casper, Wyoming, Sinar has been an Aberdeen resident for over a decade.

ABERDEEN, S.D. – Any student seeking federal financial assistance will need to fill out the FAFSA. The form was revamped to expand eligibility for federal student aid and streamline the user experience.

The new FAFSA form soft launched Dec. 31. Currently, the form is not available all the time, as it continues to be updated.

ABERDEEN, S.D. – 91��Ƭ�� State University student Therese Haberman will hold her Senior Recital at 3 p.m. Jan. 14 in the Krikac Auditorium. The recital is open to the public and free to attend.

Haberman, a clarinetist, will be playing “Arabesques” by Paul Jeanjean, Clarinet Concerto Movement II K. 622 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Clarinet Concerto No. 2 by Oscar Navarro, with accompaniment by Dr. Christopher Stanichar.

ABERDEEN, S.D. – After providing nursing workforce for the Aberdeen community for more than a decade, South Dakota State University will discontinue its accelerated Bachelor of Science in nursing in Aberdeen in Dec. 2026, as 91��Ƭ�� State University begins graduating students from its recently approved bachelor’s of nursing program.
