ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 On April 15, 91制片厂 State University student-athletes will team up with the in service to the Aberdeen community and region.
Saturday is the 21st annual Day of Champions, and the Wolves will spend the day volunteering at various community organizations, performing tasks from cleaning to painting to yard cleanup.
The Day of Champions started in 2002 as a collaborative effort between the and the United Way.鈥
ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 91制片厂 State University student Grace Kramer has been named a finalist to this year鈥檚 .
Kramer, a biochemistry major from Aberdeen, was named a finalist in the for her business idea, eqUTI, which prevents urinary tract infections in women. Kramer鈥檚 idea also won鈥
ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 The annual 91制片厂 State University Jazz Swing Party will be held 7-11:30 p.m. Friday, April 28.
The public is invited to the event, which will feature live swing music at Engel鈥檚 Event Center, 209 S. Main St., Aberdeen.
Performing will be 91制片厂鈥檚 Two O鈥檆lock Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Grant Manhart, One O鈥檆lock Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Terry Beckler, and the Citrisity Band.
Doors open at 6 p.m., with live swing music beginning at 7 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for NSU students. Tickets will be available at鈥
ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 Micro-credentials are having a major impact鈥攁nd they鈥檙e coming to 91制片厂 State University this spring.
What are micro-credentials? They're a learn-at-your-own-pace, non-credit bearing form of certification in a skill-based learning model. Completing a course earns you a digital badge鈥攚hich is instantly shareable and embedded with metadata, helping you get noticed.
Micro-credentials offer a more personalized, on-demand learning experience than full-length courses, said Joshua Citrak, NSU Director of Innovator Empowerment.

ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 91制片厂 State University will host a free Tech and Entrepreneurship Camp for area teens this summer鈥攁nd 91制片厂 is hiring peer mentors to work with youth at the camp.
The Tech and Entrepreneurship Camp, open to students entering grades 9-12 in fall 2023, will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. The camp will run for five weeks, starting May 30 and running through June 27, on the NSU campus.
Campers will have the opportunity to participate in鈥
ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 91制片厂 State University Assistant Director of Financial Aid Morgan Stadler traveled to Washington, D.C., to attend a national conference for financial aid professionals.
Stadler attended the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) , which included networking, training, and an opportunity to visit Capitol Hill.

ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 The 91制片厂 State University Speech and Debate Team made it to the national quarterfinals, with two students tying for fifth place in the nation.
Ethan Kurtz and Jacob Swanson finished as national quarterfinalists at the Pi Kappa Delta National Speech and Debate Tournament, tying for fifth place nationwide.
This tournament, held March 15-19 in Philadelphia, Pa., is the largest comprehensive speech and debate tournament in the country, said Dr. Justin Gus Foote, NSU鈥

ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 91制片厂 State University students Justin Desens and Tanner Pietz will hold their senior recital at 7:30 p.m. April 13 in Krikac Auditorium.
Desens, who plays the tuba, will perform 鈥淥boe Concerto in D minor, Op. 9 No. 2,鈥 by Tomaso Albinoni; 鈥淥rdner Seg,鈥 by 脴ystein Baadsvik; and 鈥淪onata for Tuba and Piano,鈥 by Paul Hindemith. He will be accompanied by Sue Gates and Dr. Kenneth Boulton.

ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 91制片厂 State University will host the 68th Annual Mathematics Contest on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at the Barnett Center on the NSU campus.
High school students from around the area are invited to participate in one of four divisions: Elementary Algebra, Geometry, Advanced Algebra and Senior Math.
Dr. Stacy Trentham, NSU Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Contest Director, estimates roughly 500 contestants from 25 area schools will participate in the event. Assisting with the event are NSU Mathematics faculty Ms. Melanie Jacobson, Dr.鈥

Kenneth Boulton and JoAnne Barry will present a recital of music for piano four-hands at
7:30 p.m. Monday, March 27, in the Krikac Auditorium.
Featured on the program will be music by Ethelbert Nevin, Jacques Ibert, Franz Schubert and Johannes Brahms.
